a fall in two cities

Fall has arrived all around the world!! Okay..maybe not all around the world.. but at least in Frankfurt and Calgary! But can I tell you a secret.. I took these pictures last week and I was hoping to get some more pretty fall pictures with fallen leaves, but winter came and stole away my perfect opportunity! Darn! Today we had rain in the morning and snow in the afternoon! Brrr..it feels like it could be Christmas tomorrow! But living in Calgary for five and a half years, if there's one thing that's consistent.. it's that the weather is very inconsistent!  Anyways. These are some pictures I took in my backyard. I live in an interesting area of the city, where behind me are farms (yes I see horses and cows occasionally) and in front of me are completely modern houses that I like to call "art galleries"! -JM

Last sunday, I went to the campus of my university, the Goethe-University in Frankfurt. It is a pretty new campus and has a lot of space! Next to that campus, there is a park with a small "Korean Garden" which I really really love. We have around 15 degrees right now but you can feel it is gonna be very cold very soon......The riverside in Frankfurt must be really pretty right now, but unfortunately I had no time to go there and check out the fall there yet :(  -MJS

café naschkatze [neu-ulm]

It's the last weekend in September now - I look back on this summer and yes, I can say:

life is good:)
So I hope you're all having a great time and living your life to the fullest out there!

Right now in Germany - it's Oktoberfest-time!
As you might know, Oktoberfest starts in September and ends on the first weekend of October.
I have to admit I have never been to the original Oktoberfest in Munich...
But thinking of Oktoberfest and very German things, I took a Brezel-picture for you ;)

I took the pictures in a coffe shop called Café Naschkatze which is placed in Neu-Ulm, South Germany.

I love this café -  they have homemade cake everyday, great coffee and the inside of the coffee shop is really cute and cosy...

I might share a link to a video that a friend of mine and I have taken of this coffee shop.
It's not finished yet, so please be patient;)
